Email spoofing
Faking the sender of an email so it appears to come from someone else, such as your bank, your boss or even yourself.
Email spoofing means forging the "From" line of a message. Email was designed decades ago without proof of identity, so anyone can write any name and address as the sender. Scammers use it to impersonate banks, suppliers, managers, or your own address in sextortion emails.
Protections such as SPF, DKIM and DMARC let mail providers check whether a message really comes from the domain it claims. Fishi reads those results, and also spots display names written to look like a real address.
